Kim Percy

Lecturer

Dr Kim Percy is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and educator with over 30 years of experience across higher education and professional creative practice. She has lectured in Photography, Communication Design, Digital Art, and Professional Art Practice at institutions including Federation University, Oxygen College and RMIT University, and is applying her teaching approach to Collarts’ studio-focused learning environment. Kim is also Creative Director at Designscope, where she leads branding, strategy, and visual communication projects for arts, community, and small-business clients.

Her creative practice spans expanded photography, painting, installation, and public art, with exhibitions in Melbourne, Sydney, and New York, and participation in major festivals such as the Ballarat International Foto Biennale and Head On Photo Festival. She recently completed a PhD in Visual Arts at Federation University titled Visualising the Invisible: An Investigation into Dyslexia through Visual Art, reflecting her commitment to neuroaffirming and inclusive creative education.

Kim’s teaching connects real-world design thinking with creative practice. She mentors emerging creatives in portfolio development, branding, and professional practice, encouraging students to integrate conceptual rigour with practical production skills. Her approach emphasises collaboration, wellbeing, and industry-ready outcomes, making her a strong contributor to Collarts’ creative learning community.
