Emily Ulman is a highly respected contributor to the Australian music industry, with over 20 years of experience across festival curation, venue booking, event management, publicity, artist development, radio, and performance. Her work sits at the intersection of creative practice and large scale industry leadership.
She is widely recognised for her commitment to discovering and championing emerging talent, and for programming that prioritises diversity, inclusion, and artist sustainability. Emily has programmed venues including the Prince Bandroom, Toff in Town, and the Gasometer Hotel, as well as major music events such as five years at Brunswick Music Festival, the music program for White Night Melbourne, the CHANGES summit, and the multi award winning online festival Isol-Aid, which she co founded. Most recently, she was Executive Program Director of ALWAYS LIVE, Victoria’s major contemporary live music event.
Alongside her industry leadership, Emily maintains an active music practice. Her most recent album, Severe Clear, was released last year, offering a rare dual perspective as both artist and industry practitioner.
As a teacher and mentor, Emily is passionate about demystifying the music industry and supporting the next generation with practical skills, critical thinking, and sustainable pathways.
