Brett is an accomplished composer, guitarist and producer from Melbourne. He graduated from NMIT with a Diploma of Jazz and Popular Music in 2000 before being accepted into The Victorian College of the Arts where he completed a Bachelor of Music (Improvisation) in 2004.
Working professionally since 1998 he has composed, recorded and performed with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Dan Sultan, The Verses (Ella Hooper), Paris Wells, The Hello Morning, Spender and many more. He has also supported Jimmy Barnes, Casey Chambers, Counting Crows (USA) and Fleetwood Mac on their 2009 Australian tour.
In 2009 Brett formed his own group, Magic Mountain Band who released their debut EP, Over an Ocean Away, in early 2010. The compositions from this first offering went on to be widely used in short films, television and documentaries, while the band has become a must-see live act in Melbourne.
In Feb 2014, Magic Mountain Band released their long-awaited debut album WILDERMAN to critical acclaim. Since then, the band has sold out multiple shows around Melbourne and gathered considerable support both nationally and internationally, culminating in their recent invitation to support American drone rock legends Earth on their recent Australian tour.
