Tim Henry

Lecturer

For his 5th birthday, Tim’s grandmother got him a ukulele so that her kitchen utensils would stop going missing. Since then, a passion for the guitar and music in general has directed his life. Early childhood classical piano lessons didn’t work out well, but a great high school music teacher taught him the value of using students’ passion for music to guide and inspire them.

Tim started teaching in 1994 at the Northern Rivers Conservatorium, assisting Diploma students understand theoretical concepts. He continued teaching whilst establishing himself as a working guitarist around Northern NSW and Brisbane. He has played hundreds of gigs as a guitarist and solo artist, mastering pop, rock and heavy metal styles.

Tim is also a competent screen composer, art-music composer and singer-songwriter, producing an EP and two independent albums.
