Choosing the right course for your unique skills, aspirations and creative voice takes time and consideration. At Collarts, we have a diverse range of courses, all led by industry-connected professionals and designed to ensure that you graduate job-ready.

Once you’ve chosen your preferred course, it’s time to dig a little deeper and familiarise yourself with the entry requirements and prerequisites. Some courses will require folio submissions or have specific ATAR requirements, the details of which can be found on our course pages.

If you’re concerned about meeting the requirements, don't worry! There are many different routes into a Collarts course - for example, you can study a Diploma before transferring to a Bachelor.

Collarts Open Days are also a great way to learn more about our courses, facilities and faculty.

Once you’ve found the course for you and checked the requirements, it’s time to add Collarts to your VTAC preferences.

We’ve included the key VTAC preference selection dates and Change of Preference dates below. Change of Preference allows you to change your course preferences before receiving an official offer from a university.

Once you have your offer from Collarts, you can start preparing for your first Trimester - keep a lookout for key events to kickstart your Collarts experience.

• Collarts Early Entry Program opens: 7th July 2025

• Applications (timely) open at 9am on the 4th Aug 2025.

• Timely applications close at 5pm on 1st October 2025.

• Closing of late applications at 5pm on 31st October 2025.

• Closing of very late applications at 5pm on 5th December 2025.

• November offer round Domestic - 18th November 2025

• December offer round Domestic - 23rd December 2025 

• December offer round International - 23rd December 2025

• January offer round one Domestic - 13th January 2026

• January offer round one International - 13th January 2026

It’s important to understand the requirements of your chosen university course early, so that you can plan ahead to meet them. Some courses will require folio submissions while others may have specific ATAR requirements, the details of which can be found on our course pages.

If you’re a Year 10 student, your next step will be to choose the VCE subjects you want to study in Year 11 and 12, based on the course you’d like to study at university. 

Depending on your chosen university course, you may need to study certain VCE subjects as prerequisites (these are classes or subjects that you need to complete to be eligible for a particular university course).
